After reading book 8 of the Cowboy Colony series yesterday, I decided I wanted to go back and read the series all over again, just to relive the experience and freshen up my memory of everything so I could review them. I’m telling you right now that every book in the series deserves the five star rating I’ll inevitably give them, because these books are downright fun and romantic.

Cherry is on the run after foolishly taking out a loan from a crime boss and, when she’s fleeing, she sees an ad for a convenient way to get off the planet and somewhere far away, out of the reaches of the crime boss and a fatal ending to her story. She signs up to be a bride for a lucky man on a distant planet and makes her way to meet her new husband.

Silar, or Silent Silar as they call him, is a down-to-earth convicted murder and Cherry’s soon-to-be husband. When the two meet, sparks fly and there are hilarious misunderstandings that had me cry-laughing the first time I read the book, and still laughing the second time around.

This book is entertaining, with some great spice, cute romance, and general alien awkwardness. I loved Silar’s utter confusion and Cherry’s motor mouth, and think the two of them make such a great impression for the rest of the Cowboy Colony books. I swear I tell everyone about these books and always let them know they’re missing out by not reading them.
